Sandblasting & Metal Finishing Media
GLASS BEADS
Many sizes available, usually from 50 mesh and finer. Used for
general cleaning and finishing, light deburring, and texturing.
Will not remove parent material - holds critical tolerances. Satin
finish.

ALUMINUM OXIDE GRIT
Also many sizes available (from 16 to 240 mesh). More abrasive
than glass beads - fast cutting, removes paint & heavy scale, matte
finish to rough texture.

SILICON CARBIDE GRIT
Extremely fast cutting. Very harsh texture.
PLASTIC BLAST MEDIA
Much softer than other medias yet very efficient for stripping
paint. Will not change finish of underlying material - even soft
aluminum or fiberglass. Also very efficient for removing powder
coatings.
SAND AND SAND SUBSTITUTES
General purpose. Cost effective where media cannot be recovered
for additional uses. "Silica Sand" not generally recommended because
of "free silica dust" which is a health hazard. Several substitutes
are available which do not have free silica - Black Beauty, Starblast.
STEEL SHOT & GRIT
Rough cleaning and texturing, particularly useful on aluminum
molds or for prep for paint on heavy structures.
WALNUT SHELLS
More delicate touch. Deflashing plastics, very light deburring.

CORN COB GRIT
Similar to walnut shell.
VIBRATORY MEDIA
Numerous sizes, shapes (cylinders, stars, cones, triangles, wedges,
etc), materials (ceramics, plastic, steel) available for a wide
variety of finishing requirements (burnishing, deburring & radiusing,
surface finish improvement).
